More than Branding

While brand awareness is important, it shouldn’t be the focus of an SEO campaign. The value of search engine optimisation is that it draws in the portion of your market that doesn’t already know your brand, with keywords used as signifiers. SEO fills the gaps your branding campaign leaves behind.

So why bother with branding? If you have traffic and the conversion paths laid down to turn that traffic into sales, you’re likely to do well. Branding is still a valuable part of the online equation. A brand can, if positioned well, draw in customers, achieving sales before they even enter the site. The effort required is shifted.
